About RPATC

BPATC has four Regional Public Administration training Centres situated in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna. They are mainly meant for staff training and each of them is headed by a Deputy Director. The Regional Centres conduct job related and skill oriented courses for the class-I, class-II, Class-III and class-IV employees of the government, semi-government and autonomous bodies.

In order to increase professional knowledge and skills of officers/staffs at Divisional levels, different courses for staff development are offered. There are eight types of workshop/training courses for Class-I officers:
Workshop on Upazila Management and Development
       Workshop on Modern Land Management
       Seminar on Poverty Alleviation
Computer Application and English Language Course
       Financial Management course
       Conduct and Discipline Course
Environment Development and Disaster Management Course and
       Modern office management course

Three courses are there for class-II officers; such as-
Modern Office & Financial Management Course
Computer Literacy and English Language Course and
       Conduct and Discipline Course

Besides, RPATCs also conduct five courses for class-III and class-IV employees to increase their professional skills, with one week to four weeks duration. Some of the courses are held more than once in a calendar year.

Training courses are mainly residential. There are dormitories for the trainees in all four regional centres. Participants from government, semi-government, autonomous body and private organizations may be nominated or may participate in the courses either on payment or at free of cost as per decision and provision of the centre.

In the financial year 2009-2010, RPATCs planned to conduct eight courses for class-I officers, three courses for class-II officers, four courses for class-III and one course for class-IV employees. In total about 475 officers and 500 support staff are expected to participate in these courses.
